LVHM:

“A Downton Abbey Christmas” will be celebrated in a slide-lecture, 1 p.m. Dec. 17, Lehigh Valley Heritage Museum, 432 W. Walnut St., Allentown.

“This is the perfect tribute to the holiday season and a fun and engaging way to learn about a fascinating era of history,” said Joseph Garrera, executive director of the Museum.

For six years, United States TV viewers tuned into the drama series, “Downton Abbey,” to learn about the lives of the aristocratic Crawley family and their servants and friends.

Set in the years from just prior to World War I through the 1920s, “Downton Abbey” reflected an era of dramatic change and upheaval.

The slide-lecture will feature a fascinating glimpse of Christmas in the 1920s. Through visuals and sound, attendees will be immersed in the culture, music and foods of Christmas at Downton Abbey. Attendees can enjoy coffee, tea, and a treat from the Downton Abbey cookbook.

Pre-registration and pre-payment is required.
