High School Musicals: Parkland

Intrepid Dorothy leads her friends to a magic kingdom where very little is as it seems. Her red shoes hit the yellow bricks in "The Wizard of Oz," 7:30 p.m. April 9 -12 and 3 p.m. April 13, auditorium, Parkland High School, 2700 North Cedar Crest Boulevard, Allentown.

When Dorothy Gale (Victoria Bartkavage) dusts herself off after a Kansas tornado drops her in a strange land, her new friends accompany her on a fabulous quest.

Scarecrow (Megan Schmidt), Tin Man (Michael Falco) and Cowardly Lion (Evan Hall) help Dorothy and on the journey confront their own demons.

The cast includes Taylor Van Kooten (Glinda the Good Witch of the North, Aunt Em), Tyler Haney (Uncle Henry, Emerald City Guard), Abigail Kern (Wicked Witch of the West, Miss Almira Gultch) and Jacob Stahl (Wizard of Oz, Professor Chester Marvel).

The musical is directed by Francis Anonia, who also is vocal director. Choreographer and assistant director is Kelly Jean Graham.

Songs include "Over the Rainbow," "Follow the Yellow Brick Road," "If Only I Had a Brain," "We're Off to See The Wizard" and "If I Only Had a Heart."

Tickets: Sold out, but tickets may be available at the door if there are cancellations.
