Alfred R. Berner, 82, of Whitehall, died Feb. 11, 2014, at home. He was the husband of Patricia E. (Schwartz) Berner for 58 years.
Born in Coplay, he was a son of the late Louis and Theresa (Nickischer) Berner.
He was a U.S. Naval veteran and was in the Korean War.
He worked for Mack Trucks Inc., Allentown, for 29 years.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Whitehall, and of its Holy Name Society.
He was a member of UAW Mack Local No. 677, a lifetime member of the West Coplay Maennerchor, and a member of the Northampton Liederkranz.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Pamela and her husband Kimm Galbraith of Spring City and Michelle of Bethlehem; a son, Gregory and his wife Ann Marie of Whitehall; four grandchildren, Jessica, Sara Beth, Douglass, Nicholas; and a great–granddaughter, Elise.
He was predeceased by six brothers; and four sisters.
